Privacy Policy

Last updated August 31, 2026

HashPony collects nothing. This policy says that in full, and covers the small amount of data the website itself sees.

The app

HashPony requests no Android permissions. It has no INTERNET permission and contains no network code, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no accounts. You can confirm this in the app's manifest, which is part of the open source.

All hashing happens on your device. Files are read only through the system file picker and the share sheet, only while you are using them, and only to compute the digests you asked for. Nothing about your files, their names, or their contents is uploaded, transmitted, stored off-device, or shared with anyone. When you close the app, nothing of what you hashed is kept.

The only data that leaves your device is what you explicitly choose to send: a digest you copy or share, or a sums file you save or share, using Android's own share and save dialogs.

The website

This website, hashpony.app, is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers. The web server keeps standard access logs (your IP address, the time, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string) for a short period, to keep the server secure and to diagnose abuse. Those logs are not used to profile or track you and are not shared.
